Rudolf Mastenbroek was admitted to the Johannesburg Society of Advocates in December 2013. He holds a BA LLB (Stellenbosch), a Masters degree in Public Management (Wits) and a H Dip Tax (Rhodes.)
Prior to joining the Bar, he worked for the ANC Head Office, specifically focussing on the local government chapter of the Constitution during the Constitutional Assembly negotiations. After joining the public service, he was part of the process of establishing the Asset Forfeiture Unit within the NPA, and served as legal advisor to the first National Director of Public Prosecutions. He served as part of the senior management team of the Directorate of Special Operations (“the Scorpions”), and headed the Criminal Investigations Unit within the South African Revenue Service.
Rudolf’s preferred areas of practice include tax, corruption and administrative law.
